ORAN - The capital of the West of the country vibrated, Thursday evening, to the rhythm of Algerian fashion and traditional dress, through the "Oran Fashion Week" event, which was held on the forecourt of the Bakhti Municipal Library Benaouda ", coinciding with the 19th edition of the Oran-2022 Mediterranean Games.

This fashion show, organized under the slogan "Oran in the heart", which took place in the presence of a public passionate about fashion, lovers of traditional fashion and high-end clothing professionals, in a pleasant atmosphere where fashion, heritage authenticity and modern music blend together.

This show, which is held for the first time in Algeria in the open air, is a "special edition" since it is organized on the occasion of the JM and aims to highlight the history of traditional Algerian costumes and to work for the preservation and promotion of this heritage on a global scale, according to the artistic director of Oran Fashion Week, Saïd Mohamed Amine.

In this context, three fashion shows were organized, with various brands, colors and shapes, displaying beautiful, attractive and elegant designs.

The first parade highlights traditional Algerian fashion and the second focuses on old fashion with a modern twist, while the third focused on Algerian -African models , signed by three designers, representing the houses " Jawahir Création " from Oran, "Vintage Touch " in collaboration with the creator Fares and "Algerian African Wax" from Algiers.

The event was marked by the presentation by 20 models of both sexes of traditional costumes such as the Oran blouse, the karakou , the caftan and other clothing items that highlight the diversity and richness of Algeria in the world. fashion world, which has become a new source of inspiration for international fashion.

Oran Fashion Week also showed a variety of classic clothes with a modern touch and another that includes a luxurious fashion group that combines African fabric with its beautiful harmonious colors reflecting nature and culture. of the continent, as well as the originality and the splendor of the Algerian design.

The audience also enjoyed the musical performances of the "West Town Boys" and singer Abal .

Oran Fashion Week is organized by Toumiat Lakhdar Nasrallah, founder of this event, and Saïd Mohamed Amine, artistic and executive director of this cultural event, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games.
